What Is Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein?

What is Hydrolysed Wheat Protein?

When you put wheat through a process called hydrolysis (broken down into smaller units), creates Wheat Protein. The end result of this process exposes the protein, Keratin. Our hair is mainly made up of the same protein, Keratin.

You can find hydrolysed wheat protein in either liquid or powder form, which makes it easy to handle and use.

Why do we use Wheat protein in our Shampoo Bars?

When applying Wheat protein to hair, it prevents the hair from drying out by retaining moisture and creating volume and a bit of bounce. In turn, this will promote healthy hair.

Adding proteins to our shampoo bars, as well as to our conditioner bars protects and holds the hair structure. Otherwise, hair loses its shape, making them flat and unhealthy looking.

Curly hair is more susceptible to drying out, and protein will be hugely beneficial to your hair.

Adding wheat protein to shampoo bars are great for dry hair.

Benefits of Wheat protein in our Shampoo and Conditioner Bars:

  • Repairs Damaged Hair
  • Makes It Easier to Style
  • Increases Volume
  • Strengthens Hair
  • Retains Moisture

A top ingredient to use! This is found in our shampoo bars, as well as in our conditioner bars. Everyone can benefit not just people with curly hair.

Our Hydrate shampoo bars do not contain wheat protein, as all the other hydrating properties of this shampoo bar are more than required.

Personal experience using Wheat Protein in our Shampoo Bars

My hair is long and straight, so I have always suffered from my hair being flat after each wash. I also occasionally have kinks in my hair too after a wash.

However, I now have volume in my hair, and the kinks have never returned. I have been using my shampoo bars for over three years and my hair has never felt better.

Our shampoo bars are great for dry or damaged hair.

You can, however, look for other types of proteins in shampoo. There are many to choose from, like Silk or Rice Protein. If you haven't tried using a shampoo bar, we definitely recommend it. They last a lot longer than liquid shampoo and without the plastic bottle.
