Benefits of Almond Oil for Hair
Share
One of the main ingredients in our conditioner bars is Almond Oil. We chose almond oil due to the many benefits almond oil carries. In this article, we will talk about the various benefits and why it is a great addition to our conditioner bars.
Even though Almond Oil can be used directly as a mask on your hair we have incorporated this into our bars to reduce the extra work and make it less messy!
What is Almond oil?
There are two types of Almonds, Bitter almonds, and Sweet Almonds. Both almonds are grown from trees but they produce different almonds. Bitter almonds are toxic when consumed, while the almonds that we buy from the shops are Sweet almonds. We will be referring to Sweet almonds within this blog, as we use Sweet Almond oil in our conditioner bars.
Almonds are seeds rather than a nut. The almond tree produces “drupes” which are fleshy fruits that contain a seed in the middle. These seeds are the almonds we know and love.
The process to extract the oil from the almonds can be done in two ways. 1) Cold press, 2) Chemically extracted. Cold Press extraction is pressed in a vice-like device. No additional heat or chemicals are used. Chemical extraction uses chemicals to draw out the oil from the almonds. The Sweet almond oil we use is always cold-pressed.
What are the benefits of Almond Oil?
Almond oil contains Vitamin E, antioxidants, and fungicides. Having these properties are great for not only consumption but as well as topical use. Studies have shown that Almond oil has an SPF of 15, which can provide some protection from the Sun.
There have been several studies and research into almond oil. Many of these studies have concluded that almond oil contains the following benefits:
- Reduces stretch marks
- Lessen UV damage, both in skin and hair
- Improve the appearance of scars
You can start to understand why many products contain almond oil, from body creams and balms to shampoos and conditioners.
Benefits of almond oil in our conditioner bars
It’s full of protein, fatty acids, and Vitamin E and is used for many purposes.
Each conditioner bar we produce has a generous 5% of almond oil. Almond oil is a great ingredient to add to shampoo or conditioner bars. Almond oil is an emollient, which means it softens and soothes skin and hair. Our conditioner bar also contains other moisturising and hydration properties, and when used together with almond oil, your hair gets lubricated and absorbs all the beneficial moisturising properties. This leaves your hair softer and healthier.
Almond oil in our conditioner bars can also reduce dandruff, and hair loss. It is great for people with frizzy hair, as the hydration will be easily absorbed into the hair.
Deep Conditions
Sweet almond oil in our conditioner bars repairs and rebuilds damaged hair, no matter what hair type; curly, straight, thick, or thin. Hair needs moisturising to protect from damage from sun or heating tools. It restores elasticity in the hair needed to make styling easier. It even has a natural SPF of 5!
Fights Frizz
Frizz is caused by raised hair follicles which allow moisture to pass through and expand the strands. Other times are when the hair is damaged and extremely dry. Almond oil is extremely good at sealing in that moisture to stop it from seeping out. Resulting in a smoother strand.
Softens Hair
Acting as an emollient, it protects and soothes. With regular and consistent usage, results are more visible. Over time as you use our conditioner bars, your hair softens it makes a huge difference in de-tangling your hair or styling.

Using 5% almond oil in our conditioner bars works perfectly with our other moisturising ingredients. It has enough emollient, oils, and vitamins to work actively with our Shea butter and other hydration ingredients, but also at the same time not create an oily experience. You will notice your hair being softer and a lot more manageable.
If your hair is drier than most, you can also find our hydrate shampoo bar with added Shea butter. Combining both the shampoo bar and conditioner bar into your routine, your hair will become more hydrated and moisturised, resulting in softer and more manageable hair.
For those with fine and oily hair - almond oil should be used sparingly. As someone who has greasier roots and dryer ends, I tend to avoid rubbing conditioner on my roots. That lovely smooth shine in addition to a bit of grease tends to make the hair look greasier than it is.
Conditioner bars should be used from about halfway down your head down to the ends.
